PREFIXATIONS IN ACEH LANGUAGE

Abstrak
This research discussed prefixations in Aceh language. The study aimed to describe the forms, distributions, functions, and meanings of prefixations in Aceh language. This research applied descriptive qualitative research by Norman and Lincoln. The data was taken from interview some native speaker in Lhokseumawe and book story entitled Aceh Lam Sijarah. After getting the data, the writer transcribed the data. Then, the writer classified the data based on the forms, distributions, functions, and meaning the prefixations in Aceh language. The data were analyzed on the basis of morphological process. The result of findings showed that there are six prefixations in Aceh language. They are meu-, peu-, beu-, neu-, teu-, and geu-.
